NOT YOUR USUAL TRIBUTE ACT

WHEN you hear the term ‘tribute band’, many think of an act imitating big name, mainstream artists like ELVIS. But here’s something a little different. A Tribute to USA indie-pop-rock-band, The Decemberists by newly formed Christchurch band, BANDIT QUEEN.

According to Justin ‘Rusty’ White, (Bandit Queen’s founding member), several years jamming with various local musos has led to the current line-up. Fellow musicians who not only share his love of The Decemberists but are up for the challenge of covering the material.

The Decemberists are renowned for their musical style and unique storytelling with many song lyrics based on historical incidents and folklore. Drawing influence from the likes of The Beatles, Tom Waits, REM, Morrisey, their songs effortlessly combine folk-rock with elements of pop.

BANDIT QUEEN – Tim Kent (vocals, acoustic guitar); Justin ‘Rusty’ White (lead guitar); Chiara Lowe (violin, vocals); Jo-Anne Davern Fuller (vocals, keyboard); Adam Lowe (bass); Mark Newburn (drums, percussion) – are excited to introduce you to the exquisitely constructed folk-rock-pop songs of The Decemberists.
