Jazz and Soul and a Whole Lot of Fun
What a night! Friday the 27th of July saw the Boathouse crew transform the Granary at Founders Heritage Park into a makeshift Boathouse bar.
The night was a sell out success and the music and dancing was outstanding thanks to the wonderful people who attended.
Thank you to those working hard behind the scenes to bring these events together. A big thank you to Nelson Jazz Club Big Band and Sun City Soul for entertaining us all night long!
This event wouldn’t be possible without sponsorship from the community. Thank you to the team at Founders, The Boogie Train and Leighton Skilling for the lighting, Nelson Jazz Club for the sound gear, Westmeat for the barbie supplies, The Point of Sale Company, Media Works for the BBQ and gazebo, Nelson New World, Pic’s Peanut Butter, Liquorland New Street, Countdown Supermarkets, Beggs Music Nelson, The Copier Company, Phantom Billstickers and everyone else who gave towards this night.
Heartfelt thanks to the members who donated soup to keep us all going and the team working on the night. Any food left over has been donated to local causes, feeding hungry bellies.
If you missed out on tickets to this event, then get in quick before Mel Parsons for The Boathouse sells out. Mel is a Nelson favourite with a heart of gold and a voice to match.
Raffle tickets for the Awaroa Lodge refresh are now for sale at Morri Street on Hardy Street. Pop in a grab yours for $5 before they sell out (grab a great coffee too!).
See you all at the next big night!
