About the Musicians:
Bryce Wastney
Bryce Wastney is an accomplished guitarist, piano player, and singer/songwriter. He has performed nationally and internationally with some of the top artists in Australasia, including Guy Sebastian, The Mockers, Marlon Williams, Stu Larsen, Paul Ubana Jones, Anna Coddington, Jars Of Clay (USA), The Germein Sisters, Ryan Beehre, Jordie Lane, Shaun Kirk, Brian Hatcher, and many more. Inspired by the acoustic music of Cat Stevens, Neil Finn, and Travis, Bryce’s music naturally traverses the folk, country, rock, and pop genres.
PlayTime
PlayTime is a five piece band formed for this concert! It consists of Kim Carr (vocals) Warren Houston (percussion + backing vocals), Paul Thompson (bass) and David Turnhout (guitar).
Kim Carr is a Taranaki based jazz singer who is quickly establishing herself as a singer with sass. Classically trained, she’s built up a diverse repertoire and vocal range from foot stomping, swinging jazz standards to smooth, soft ballads. Kim, a tennis enthusiast, has spent the last 18 months singing in Taranaki, Auckland, and was recently booked to play at the Napier art deco festival. She has also performed in other countries!
“I love music! There is constantly a song in my head.” – Warren “Wozz” Houston has been drumming and singing for over 60 years, all over NZ and several times overseas. He enjoys a wide range of music genres and has recently moved from the Bay of Plenty to live in Tasman Bay. He is the Founding Member and the current Vice President of The Tasman Bay Blues Club.
Paul Jeffries is no stranger to the Nelson music scene. A talented musician and keyboardist he has played in a range of bands including Sun City Soul, Big Papa and hugely popular Queen and Pink Floyd tribute bands.
Paul Thompson is a keen tennis player. He has played bass guitar for many years and been in a variety of bands.
David Turnhout is a guitar instrumentalist (located under Hear Guitar on Spotify) and has been playing guitar for over 30 years. He has played in various bands in the Nelson area as well as other parts of NZ. David is a latecomer to tennis but is trying to make up for lost time!
