Things are moving along with the Rebuild. You Build have been busy replacing joists and laying down flooring. NCE, You Build and The Boathouse are putting special emphasis on reusing materials where and when it works best and is safe and so far the entire kitchen floor has been replaced with recycled materials. The floorboards have started to be replaced in The Boathouse! The Boathouse Society and Nelson Consulting Engineers are conservatively re-using any old boards that are fit for purpose. Any new boards will come from Logs 2 Lumber. In 2014 Cyclone Ita caused serious damage when it hit the West Coast, knocking over 20,000 hectares of forest and damaging another 200,000.
